Tapestry Community Mental Health Centre is a proposed design for a five-storey outpatient mental health clinic located in Guelph, Ontario. Tapestry offers mood disorder and addictions care for youth aged 12-17 and seniors aged 55 and above, with dedicated intergenerational programs and services for all guests.
My primary focus was the fourth and fifth storeys, which complement the medical and therapy spaces on the lower floors by providing spaces for relaxation, connection, and emotional regulation. These spaces include a healing garden, multi-purpose activity space, staff break room, and lockers for guests. Throughout my design and material selections, I prioritized biophilic and sensory-friendly elements that are nonetheless sturdy and durable enough for an active healthcare and wellness environment. My additional contributions included the development of Tapestry’s environmental branding, ranging from the logo to a bespoke wayfinding signage package.
